As with most holiday weekends, the Texas Department of Public Safety will increase patrols to locate drunk drivers. According to the press release, DPS will increase patrols in high risk locations, and at times when alcohol related crashes are most prevalent. You have to guess when that is, although it's a safe bet that they will be targeting late afternoon and evenings. You can also probably expect increased patrols around lakes and gatherings where there are large numbers of people - and alcohol.

While no one should even drive when they are intoxicated, it's a safe bet that your chances for getting caught go up around the holidays. Drink - and drive responsibility. And even you aren't drinking make sure you use extra care - and watch out for the other drivers on the road.
