This may seem like a crazy subject, but apparently, people don't know this. In case you don't know, the jail is not a sanctuary or "safe place". If you drive to jail when you are intoxicated, you are probably going to be arrested for DWI.
I would assume people know this, but obviously not. Just recently, an Indiana woman went to bond someone out of jail. Unfortunately, she was intoxicated. If that wasn't bad enough, her license was suspended. So instead of helping the person get out of jail, she ended up in there with him. You have to wonder how that conversation went if they saw each other at the booking desk. Hopefully, they both knew someone who wasn't drunk who could come to help them out.
You might think this is an oddity, but it's not the first time I've seen this happen. I understand that intoxicated people don't employ the best reasoning, but you would still hope most people would know it's not a great idea to drive drunk to a location where there are a bunch of law enforcement people.
So consider this a public service announcement. If you're intoxicated and someone needs you to get them out of jail, call a cab or get an Uber. Or tell them to find someone else.
